Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:

Welcome to Fisher Jr/Sr High School – An educational community of excellence!  It is my pleasure to welcome you to one of the top small schools in the area. Our primary responsibility is student learning and offering all students the educational opportunities that will maximize their potential.  This responsibility is supported in our school’s mission statement, "The mission of the Fisher Jr./Sr. High School community is to provide a safe and supportive environment with educational opportunities that inspire students to become responsible and productive citizens.”  Today’s world demands that students are able to think critically. We do this by challenging them in their learning experiences as they work to achieve their dreams.  Within the graduation requirements of the Fisher Community Schools, you will find expectations for each student to receive a well-rounded education. This includes a unique combination of rigorous academic standards and achievement with an inviting school culture.

We at Fisher Jr/Sr High School are excited to work with all of our students to prepare them for college and/or the workforce.  Our teachers and staff are first class and will do everything in their power to positively guide our students along their educational paths.  Students at Fisher Jr/Sr High School are expected to strive for excellence both in and out of the classroom, to be of good character, and to treat others in a respectful manner.  It is our goal to produce graduates of Fisher High School who will be prepared to be lifelong learners and motivated to succeed at a high level in continuing their education and/or the workforce.

The students of Fisher Jr/Sr High School are provided with numerous opportunities to be challenged as they learn and grow through dual credit college courses, AP courses, and honors courses.  As part of our requirements, students are expected to have four years of language arts, three years of math and science, and two years of social studies.  Students will also benefit from challenging classes in architecture, industrial technology, agriculture, music, technology, business, and personal wellness.  We have approximately 300 students in grades 7-12, and we use an eight period schedule.

Fisher Jr/Sr High School also offers a multitude of extra-curricular opportunities for students with all kinds of interests.  We encourage all of our students to involve themselves into the activities, clubs, programs, or athletics that interest them.  Being involved in extracurricular activities allows for students to create strong relationships.  It also gives students an opportunity to create, produce, perform, and compete.  These abilities can be fostered by being involved in the following: science club, math club, art club, FFA, scholastic bowl, yearbook, student council, music, theater, football, volleyball, soccer, cheer, golf, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and track and field.

The goal of Fisher Jr/Sr High School is to provide our students with the best education they could possibly receive.  This is an outstanding school that settles for nothing less than everyone’s best effort.  Everyone includes administrators, teachers, staff, parents, students, and community members alike.  A great school depends on all of us working together, and to that end, the experiences you have with Fisher Jr/Sr High School will be both memorable and rewarding.  WE ARE FISHER, we are the Bunnies, and we are proud of our school and community.

Sincerely,

Jon Kelly
