Good luck to our Bunnies this week!!!

Field Day is almost here for our K-6 students! Mrs. Stafford is in need of some parent and/or high school volunteers to run the different stations. High school students, this is a great way to earn volunteer hours! If you're able to volunteer to help please sign-up via the link:

HS Physics took a trip to DACC for a career fair and drone competition. It was put on by the U of I Extension program. We had a great time! Dylan was our Physics spokesperson. He was interviewed by U of I and WCIA.

Fisher Community,
I need your help!
My name is Ginny Williams and I am a science teacher at Fisher Jr./Sr. High School. I am a registered dietitian nutritionist and am in the process of starting a nutrition education program at the high school for the 2023-2024 school year. Enrollment in this course is currently around 50 students. Some topics that I plan on covering next year include body image, digestion, macros, food groups, kitchen safety, food safety, diseases related to poor nutrition, food preparation for one and many, grocery shopping, eating on a budget, eating disorders, diet trends/ anti-dieting/ dieting misinformation and myths, and many more.
My plan and hope is to use funds allocated for this course to cover the cost of our ingredients. This leaves very little money in the budget to stock the kitchen with the equipment needed. Items needed include, but are not limited to: like-new pots and pans (all sizes), mixing bowls (all sizes), measuring cups and spoons, utensils, plates, bowls, napkins, silverware etc. along with a variety of kitchen electronics: blenders, hand mixers, stand mixers, food processors etc. If you have been going through your cabinets and doing some almost-summer-cleaning, please consider donating any of your unused, like-new items to this amazing new course. If you have a question about whether or not it is something our class could use, please reach out at ginny.williams@fisherk12.org (mailto:ginny.williams@fisherk12.org) and I would be happy to answer your questions!
Please note that any donations that do not get used for our class will be passed on to local second-hand stores or recycled properly. If you are interested in donating, please drop off any donations to the school office with a note to inform the secretaries that it is for Ms. Williams.
Thanks in advance!
Ms. Williams

HOIC Baseball/Softball Showcase - GO BUNNIES!!!

5R recently had a chess tournament after school that was a
lot of fun. We’ve been learning how to play chess all year and wanted
to test our skills in an informal tournament. Fun was had by all!

Lexi Murray, High School senior, spoke to the 6th grade class about the importance of study skills and organizational skills as the students approach Junior High and High School. Lexi is very active in FFA and is involved in activities and work experiences both in school and outside of school. Thanks for sharing your inspiration, Lexi, with our 6th graders!

Good luck to our JH State Qualifiers today and tomorrow at the IESA State Track Meet at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria!
